Whitemoss Youth Club,s Multi Games Area..

We have been successful with a Lottery fund of 50,000 pounds for a Multi Games Area at the back of Whitemoss Youth Club. We have been trying to get this for our community for the past 25 years so this is great for the whole community, so we can have more members as well because well have more room for all sports at the club we are looking for any sponsors local business, who want to have there names on the boards around the Multi games area F.C UNITED have been great help too with using our club to training young football coaches at youth club. We are hoping to work well in the future ill be putting video,s and pics of the progress of our Multi Games Area so you can see whats going on big thank you to the changing spaces/the lottery funding. You can see in the paper in 1996 we tryed for the third time but we didn't get it but with hard work of John Biggs /Heath Cole/Rob Shipway they worked so hard to get us to this stage watch this space Success Breeds Success..also if anyone nows any famous sports people who can open our Multi Games Area that would be icying on the cake .

this was our city council,s be proud award,s we stole the show in my view i might be bierst thought we did lol. We won 3 trophy's in 3 different categories. First was the young person of the year which Liam England was in he was up against Grove Village, Ladybarn youth club, Liam came out on top well done mate for all hard work he does voluntary. Young people get allot bad press its great young person 17 years old is doing great for his own community.Our second was Phil Tommins in the group Creativity in the Community in Phil,s croup was Community Arts Team, Wilbraham Heritage Heritage Project, winner Phil who has done all our art work inside and out which make club look so warm and vibrant place plus Whitemoss Youth Club we was up against Willow Park's Junior Wardens, Wilbraham Heritage Project, we were Winners it was a great night well done to all our volunteers who keep whitemoss youth club going well done John Biggs my dad without him club wouldn't be there love him so much.

just had our panto from Chaplin's who did an amazing job with the show jack and the beanstalk we sold 120 tickets like to say big thank you for helping get this panto on northwards housing thanks to all the volunteers who helped pull the buffet and setting the raffle up big thanks to Liam England who helped with all the chairs and setting all up kids loved it adults did too big thanks to girls from whitebeck court who came they loved it they all over 60 but that's what was great it didn't matter it brought all ages together for the community to have a great night thanks to all for coming

hi this is a blog of Thursday night 25th of November me my dad and muriel went down to London to see if my dad had won his life time achievement award we went round to big Ben first and then Trafalgar square it was really cold but it was great to go down he got runners up out of 700 people out of the UK and Ireland so it was great achievement anyway so hes a winner in our eyesx

this is a blog on great new thing that the police are doing its called smart water which all things at club are marked with invisible ink so any items can be tracked back its a magic dna liquid that cant be seen only with special torch that picks it up also the club has sprays so if we get broke into smart water sprays all over you and it stays on your skin for 6months so if police arrest you and you have it on you they can link you to that burglary in some places its cut burglary by 80% in areas hope the government put it in everyone house one day here's hoping blog by johnny biggs

This is my blog on our new Fitness Wall we have just got at Whitemoss Youth Club this was a grant we got through John Biggs putting in application form we was succsessful on grant a big thankyou to Heath Cole from manchester regen and manchester City Council and the surpport of Carlestown Councillers Veronica kirkpatrick, Basil Curley, Mark Hackett, Thanks to Deanway D.I.Y on kenyon lane for supplying some of the wood for boxing the radiaters in, Barry Steele Andy's dad for sorting out the electrics, also phil our artist for the art work he done for the Fitness Wall This is great way to keep young and old fit and also an enjoyable way to lose weight thanks to John Biggs for his hard work in doing the application form we wouldn't of got it if it wasn't for the hard work John does on the tennant's committie working hard for Chalestown and its all Voluntry well done dad

This is my blog about Sir Bobby Charlton sending my dad a signed pic saying well done for 40 years of Youth Work. I was sat at home thinking what we could do for the Club's 40th Anervisery Celabrations, i thought there was very old picture of Sir Bobby and my dad back in 1966 when Bobby used to go Collecting for the Boy's Club's on that night they started from the vasa Club on damhead. I thought it would be nice to ask Bobby for him to send my dad something after writing to Bobby and telling him the great Voluntry Youth Work that he's done over 40 years i was totally shocked when i got reply it was fantastic to get card from Bobby with his best wishes from him and we presented my dad with it at the Charlestown Pub, were it was jam packed with old members and staff it was great night 1967/2007 id like to say big thank you to Sir Bobby Charlton to take the time to send this to my dad what a legend you are blog by Johnny Biggs..

Late 2009,one cold Saturday morning Staff from Boggart Hole Clough,Peter Milner and his volunteers joined forces with the Charlestown Councillors,John Biggs and a few junior club members from the Whitemoss Youth Club and other local people came together in planting the last of the Avenue of Oak Trees along the main footpath into the Clough. Well done everybody in taking part in what will prove to be a Bggart Hole Clough historical feature in years to come.

this is my blog on the English National Badminton Championships Velodrome,Manchester, we got 8 tickets to go and see the professional badminton players play plus Nathon Roberson Englands number 1 we took 5 girls down there that have been doing Badminton with our badminton coach adam from Manchester Liesure its great the girls are so in to it normally its just the boys doing football in the gym we have got adam for 10 weeks hopefully we can get this exstended cause its great the girls are getting to do things in the gym to keep them fit. This is my blog on the Whitemoss Youth Clubs Succsess in this years North Manchester in Bloom Awards 2009 we was awarded for our BOAT that we renavated which was an old boat from Heaton Park Lake we got it with the help from charlie/sol dragged it off the irland, after that/wayne/and john biggs cleaned it out after leafs and all sorts were in it over 25 years of rotting. We got it back to the club and with the help from North Manchester Boys School lads from year 7 helped renervate it so we could plant the boat out it took 8 bags of soil to fill the boat up plus the lads helped with our Sensory garden doing it all up for the judges coming around well done to everyone who helped Big Shout out to wayne and John Biggs with there help with the Boat... thur 4th feb 2010

This is my blog about our Halloween party at Whitemoss Youth Club i was late from work so it was a rush getting in anyway the kids turned up in there fancy dress they all looked really SCAREY. Thanks to the parents who brought in food and drinks for the buffett the kids really enjoyed musical chairs and at the end bobbing for apples great to see them having so much fun well done to all the staff for making it great night. Then we anounced the winner of scarest dressed, the winner of the boys was kylie and the winner for the girls was jazmin well done everyone who dressed up also we had a coulouring in compation and there was 1st/2nd/3rd prize on offer the three winners are shown above this blog well done everybody who entered. This is a blog just to say what and who,s in the video its an interview that Kaylum one of the Youth Club Members who went on North Manchester Radio with John Biggs Whitemoss youth club,s Club Leader they both went on to talk about the Youth Club and Kaylum went on to give Young persons ideas of the club and kaylum talking how the Music Studio and Tyler Daley/Kurt Daniels have encouraged them to start a group.Which is called ROYAL FLUSH and the song that's in the video is called FOUR BLACK TEENS in the Group are KADE/EMMERSON/TROY/KAYLUM/ANDRIE. Hopefully this will inspire other TEENS and keep them off the streets which is the main thing and that youngsters can show there talents rather than having no hope wondering the streets with nothing to do and bored teenagers with out nothing to do. this is my blog this was two americans quintin and paige they was brought over by our boys youth club federation to see how our youth clubs compared with theres in the U.S they was given grand tour of differant youth clubs and they came to whitemoss youth club and john biggs shown them around they was very impressed with our club then john took them down to see boggartt hole clough around the lake they liked it but pointed out that it could do with good clean out which i agree with apart from that they loved it then andy hammell came and picked them up we got a picture of the special needs club who were using the club.Hopefully it will go in the next edition of the federations booklet thanks for your visit QUINTIN PAIGE. BOAT FROM HEATON PARK PROJECT.2009

This is my blog of were/how we got an old peddalow boats off one of the ireland it was a saturday morning really hot wheather me wayne and dad/john biggs. Charlie who runs the boats at heaton park he rowed us over we only took over a spade and a plastic bag we thought there would just be leafs and bit water in the boat but when we looked it was full to the top with water and leafs so wayne started off with the spade and he nearley collapsed because of the smell the boats been there for 20/30 years. We wasnt getting far so Charlie came back over with a big bowl it was alot easier to empty.then we lifed the boat over and left the ireland then a week later sol from the clough lake put the boat on a moter boat and put it on to a truck and brought it to the youth club and then i got lym scale remover and cleanded up the boat then had to drill holes in the bottom of it so got room to breath when the soil got put in then the boys school came up with 16 volunteers to help paint the boat and soil it out and then put plants/flowers in the boat plus the boys from year 7 helped all week in weeding and doing hanging baskets plus the teachers/ethon put two gaziboes up looks geat job well done to every one involved blog by Johnny Biggs on 25/june 2009. This is a blog about the clubs future plans with such a high demand of kids/youths in our area with more houses being built but our club has stayed the same size since 1967 plus insurance policeys we can only cater for 8 kids/Youths to one member of staff. To the Goverment you keep building these new houses and exspect us to cater for more and more familys so our plan is to exstend the Youth Club at the back and put multi sports area at the back of the club then we can cater for more kids/youths.Then keeping more Kids/youths off the streets hope fully some funders can see it makes sense in the long run it will save Council/police money in the long run.Blog done by johnny biggs. on16/march/2009

2007 prooved to be a sucessful year both for the Greater Manchester Federation Clubs for Young People celebrating 100 years of Youth Club work and Whitemoss Club For Young People as we celebrated our 40th.Anniversary.The Federation visited Manchester Citys' Stadium in Eastlands and Volunteer Adults played some of the old City Players. Thanks to Johnny for filming the event and Neil.Daniel and Ryan for playing ,did Andy Hamill score a goal ? . The Clubs u12's represented the Federation and were champions in the NorthWest Finals as well as playing on the day.Well Done to Everyone who took part and to the Fed. for their splendid work past and present, over the 100 years.

The Community Foundations Awards Night, Johnny, Zoe, Dad and Muriel arrived at the C.I.S Building. We got there a bit to early so we went for a drink over the Road at an Irish Pub.Then we went in, walked up to the first floor and there was White wine/Red wine/Orange juice we sat down and had a few drinks.Then we were called into the dining area where we sat down with other Nominees .There was Entertainment put on i.e Singers/Band/Dancers/Scottish Bagpipers playing.Then came the presentations which the Whitemoss youth club and Zoe Randells were nominated my dad nominated Zoe for the Young Persons Award and Whitemoss Youth Club was up for Best Group Award the club was pipped at the post by a football Club. Zoe won the Young Persons Award and Fizz out of CORONATION STREET gave Zoe her award it ended a great night, Thanks to the Community Foundation plus Proudly Supported by Irwell Valley Housing Association WELL DONE EVERYBODY INVOLVED. The Queens Award was a great night on the thursday night we all came in to spring clean and setting out the Raffle Prizes. Its' A Knockout from Northwards was held on Saturday 13th September 2008 in Boggart Hole Clough. This was a Community event Brought together by many partners within North Manchester.Special thanks to Jim Burke and his splendid dedicated group/committee who pulled it together.Whitemoss Youth Club together with another 7 teams entered the Its' a knockout challenge similar to the Stuart Hall years competition.The club were the ones in the orange tee shirts,we came third in the overall competition and received medals which Northwards had kindly presented. We run out of funding for the Special Needs night three months ago. The 1st of october was are first night back with no funding its being run by Volenteers who are doing a great job we shouldn,t have to do it Volentry there should be funding out there to give these kids some thing to do but as well to give the parants a break. Northwards Natter did a nice write up on the Queens Award that the club won.We were the only Voluntary Youth Club to win this great award thanks to The Queen and to Julie Wilson ,Councillor Mark Hackett and John Biggs who nominated the club for this award. Thanks to Manchester City Council who made it possible for us to put up fencing in the Sensory Garden from a Cash Grant which my Dad Applied forWelding Engineering/Carter fencing Ltd..both from Failsworth, who did the work and they did a great job it was all done in a day on the 6th/Oct/2008 Blog by Johnny Biggs Thanks to John Biggs. Who put in for the funding.This now means we can develop the garden further, without plants and other things that we make for the garden, doesn't get damaged when children and young people play football at the back of the club.It is hoped that one day we get sufficient funding to have a new Multi Games Area built at the rear of the club.

The Awards Night2nd/Oct/2008 My dad Nominated two of our club members Tymike Absalom/Rhianna Barcley/ and after over 80 Nominations that people had sent in. Also the club had been nominated for all the good work over the years its done ,and all three of us won so we went to an awards night at Heaton Park We all met at Rhianna,s house.It was raining the mini bus turned up at 7pm . When we arrived there was a meet and greet person there and they shown us to are table number 3 was our table . Then they called out the winners rhianna/Tymike and they went to collect there glass awards and Rhianna said thank you to julie /the club for Nominating us both the night was finished with live band which they were great .Then at the end they had a raffle which the two girls won a big teddy/plus weekend at the Palace hotel and few other prizes all in all it was nice to see the two girls to be reconised for the hard work they do like Litter picks/Gardening at youth club on weekends in there own spare time Blog done by Johnny Biggs

Outreach In The Community at Whitemoss Youth Club

Outreach In The Community/ North Fields , use the club on Thursdays day time giving adults with special needs a place to a fun and chat to each other and there are not many places in the local area for them to be in one big place and really enjoy and get out of there houses. Meet new people all of them who I've got to know them well and they are fantastic people and hope they carry on , being able to come, fingers crossed if funding carries on which is a big problem not just for special need adults but also special need kids . On the 1st October we are going to start back the Fun Club on a Voluntary basis. If any one knows of any pots of funding we can tap into for the kids let us know / johnwhitemoss@myway.com Well done to Annette , one of the carers ,she 's a breath of fresh air when she comes in everyone loves her ,plus she gives us cookies each week apart from that she's great person blog from JOHNNY BIGGS 19th.September 2008.

17 Volunteers gave up the day between 10am and 4pm even John Biggs and his Son Johnny got involved in helped around the club.We worked in the Sensory Garden weeding , digging and cutting grass.The big task was repainting the railings around the perimeter of the club. We also painted in and around the club to brighten up the club and to compliment the good work that Steve Crawford has done over the last few months "Well Done Steven" Old Club Member!Thanks to CSV Team Challenge and KMPG Accoutants for their input,it was greatly appreciated by the Club and its' volunteers. "WELL DONE" Everybody.

40th Anniversary of Whitemoss youth club 29th sep 2007.

The 40th anniversary of the Club started the day with a fun day for the kids and many local families and friends. Local people could come along and look at the Clubs' history albums that the Voluntary Staff had put together for the occasion. The Late Roy Williams would of been proud of everybody who had been involved in the Celebrations.The founder members the late Mr. & Mrs Elliott and the volunteers from the early 60s' would be very proud to see how the club has been transformed over the many years.Over the last 5years or so we've worked very closely with MCC. and Northwards and the North M/c.Partnership.This has helped us to secure funding from many organisations.The day came to a close when we held celebrations in the evening at the Charlestown Pub ,when the local band Mimic Dave Heapy Drummer(Well Done!) Local Concillors stopped for the evening and thanks to the Brewery and the Charlestown they kindly provided the buffet for everybody.The pub was absolutely buzzing it was like a New Years Night.It was nice to see so many past and present friends all together enjoying a fabulous nite in our local Charlestown Pub.Thanks to Tiffany Lonergan for singing on the night and also at the Club in the daytime."A BIG THANKYOU!" to everybody for making the such a success.

MANCHESTER WORKING..the facia boards 2008

My dad put in funding for new fashier boards around the club. Manchester working said they would do it cost coming to 5.000 pounds they turned up and put there scaffolding up it took a week to complete, they did a great job looks so much better in whitecolour facia .They had not been renewed for 40 years well thanks to Manchester Working great job done the big project is getting the roof done which keeps leaking . 21/25.april 2008
